What is the difference between Adapt and Adept and Adopt? : 
Adapt : 

1 ) Make something suitable for a new use, situation – modify something

The styles can be adapted to suit individual tastes. 

2 ) Alter or modify the text to suit television or stage

This story has been adapted for radio from English original. 

3 ) Become adjusted to new conditions

I adapted myself quickly to the new climates. 


Adept : (adjective) 

1 ) Expert or skilled in something

You are adept in telling lies. 


Adept : (noun) 

1 ) Person who is skilled in something

He is an adept in carpentry.

 
Adopt : 

1 ) Take someone into one’s family especially as one’s child or heir

As he has no child of his own, he decided to adopt an orphane. 

2 ) Choose somebody as a candidate or representative

He has been adopted as congress candidate from New Delhi. 

3 ) Take over and have or use something as one’s own

They adopted our production methods. 

Have you adopted a new style of dress? 

4 ) Approve – accept a report, recommendation 

The government has adopted the committee’s suggestions to root out corruptions.
